Driving Growth and Leadership in the Electrical Industry: Brian Jacobs’ Journey

Brian Jacobs has been an instrumental force in the growth and success of IBEW Local 804 since assuming the role of Business Manager. With a track record marked by integrity, leadership, and tangible outcomes, Brian has propelled Local 804 towards continued expansion.

His recent appointment as Executive Assistant to James Barry, Executive Secretary Treasurer (EST), positions Brian to further amplify his achievements while concentrating on provincial organizing efforts. Combining his roles as an organizer and business manager, along with his extensive involvement in various associations and committees, Brian is equipped with the necessary tools to drive success for all members of the IBEW.

Some of Brian’s notable accomplishments include spearheading over 60 recruitment campaigns across multiple sectors, substantially increasing Local 804’s residential market share from 0% to an impressive 65%, and securing TDA status for both the 309 A and 631 A certification.

“I am excited and eager for the opportunity to join the Construction Council of Ontario and work with James Barry and the CCO staff,” expressed Brian. “I share James’ vision and passion for growing the IBEW membership by organizing all workers, in all sectors of the Electrical Industry throughout the Province of Ontario. I am confident that this opportunity to work with James, the Council and the great team of Organizers and Recruiters across the Province will be successful.”

James Barry, echoing Brian’s enthusiasm, stated, “I am extremely motivated and enthusiastic to work with Brian as my partner. Together, along with all Council members, we will continue to move the CCO to greater success over the coming years. Our shared goal is to grow our membership in Ontario through strategic organizing campaigns and, at the same time, continue to work with our signatory partners at the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO).”

Brian’s adeptness in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, coupled with his consistent professionalism, has earned him the trust and confidence of his peers. “Brian has demonstrated his ability to work with Business Managers, Presidents, Signatory Contractors and, most importantly, our members,” affirms James. “He has consistently presented himself professionally and I am extremely confident he will deliver positive results.”
