This year’s OPC Baseball Tournament took place on June 19–20 at IBEW Local 1687 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, with 19 teams from across the region participating in a weekend of friendly competition and union camaraderie.
Following the successful introduction of the format by IBEW Local 804, this year’s tournament once again featured a Sisters Division, highlighting the continued growth and participation of women in the event.
Congratulations to this year’s champions:
- A Division: IBEW Local 17 (Detroit)
- B Division: IBEW Local 804 (Central Ontario)
- Sisters Division: IBEW Local 804 (Central Ontario)
The weekend kicked off with a Friday evening reception at The Machine Shop, where participants enjoyed complimentary food, a live band, and the opportunity to connect with fellow members before tournament play began.
The success of the event was made possible through the hard work of the tournament planning committee: Marc Lafrance, Tom McLean, Josh Lachance, Amy Luczak, Patrick Fleming, Marko Jokic, and Matt Arbour. Special thanks also go to Nikita Olar, Chair of the Merchandise Committee, for sourcing this year’s tournament swag.
