Ontario Budget includes major investments in Infrastructure and Skilled Trades

March 24, 2021

Message from James Barry

The Ontario government released its 2021 Budget today which included significant investments to support skilled trades and support critical infrastructure projects.

The province announced $9.8 million towards the building of a new mega-hospital in Windsor which will address critical health care needs for the community and lead to the creation of a significant number of jobs in electrical trades.

The budget also provided an overview of the $288 million that will be invested in 2021-22 in its Skilled Trades Strategy.

I would like to thank Premier Doug Ford and Minister of Labour, Training and Skilled Trades Development Monte McNaughton for listening and addressing our concerns when it comes to the importance of training for our trade and for investing critical infrastructure to sustain and build our economy.
