February 21, 2024

The Confederation College in Thunder Bay hosted its annual Career and Jobs Fair on January 31st, providing an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the IBEW Local 402, affiliated contractors, and NETCO. Coinciding with the opening of the application process for the Pre-Apprenticeship program, which accepts 24 pre-apprentices annually, the event also highlighted Local 402’s recognition as a TDA training center for the Network Cabling Specialists program.

The presence of Denise Miller from NETCO added immense value to the event, providing valuable insights into NETCO’s Virtual Reality Training Modules. Additionally, Business Manager Craig Peterson, Training Director Andrew Wronowski, Local 402 Organizer Steve McKeown and Chris Welbourne from ECAO Thunder Bay were in attendance, further emphasizing the importance of career development initiatives within the community.

Looking ahead, Thunder Bay residents can anticipate another exciting event on March 28th, organized by Dougall Media and funded by the Joint Electrical Promotion Plan (JEPP). This upcoming event promises to provide further opportunities for career advancement through a corresponding regional media campaign.

As Thunder Bay continues to thrive as a hub for career development, events like these play a crucial role in shaping the future workforce.
