IBEW Local 773 Partners With Mezzo Ristorante to feed Frontline Health Workers

IBEW Local 773, Windsor, has partnered with Local restaurant, Mezzo to give back to their community and front line workers.  The initiative, described below, aims to impact over 5,000 frontline workers in the Windsor area, many of whom include doctors and nurses who may not have the time to procure or prepare a proper meal between patients. Having an individually prepared and packaged meal will help to ensure our frontline workers remained fueled during these unprecedented times. Hats off to IBEW Local 773 Business Manager, Karl Lovett and Mezzo Owner, Filip Rocca for spearheading this initiative.  Deliveries are expected to begin this Friday and last for three weeks.

“The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers [Local 773] has partnered with Mezzo Ristorante to feed frontline health care workers at hospitals throughout southwestern Ontario.

An agreement reached Tuesday with Karl Lovett & Filip Rocca will bring individually prepared and packaged meals delivered to five hospitals in Windsor, Essex County and Chatham-Kent. Hospitals include Windsor Regional Hospital campuses, Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, Erie Shoes Healthcare in Leamington and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The partnership is expected to help feed 5,000 frontline staff in Windsor, Leamington and Chatham-Kent over a three-week period. Mezzo owners Filip Rocca and Darcy King immediately jumped at the opportunity to help healthcare workers, who are working tirelessly to support their communities.

Meals will be delivered over a three-week period for the five hospitals throughout the region. Also, we would to thank the following for various donations to complete this project.

Abe Schmitt & Dave Pereira from Mor Gro Farms-Primevine,
Rob Michie & Larry Howe from Post Packaging of Windsor
Anuj Sood of Champion Paper.

Thank you everyone for serving our hospital frontline workers”
